Three Things Thursday No. 10: Riding the Wave

Hey, there.
How’s it going with you? Things are craaaaaaazy busy here. I don’t know if you knew this already but for the last five years I’ve owned and operated an online educational bookstore. This year we are doing some really fun, exciting things with the business and it’s really cool but taking up SO much time!!
But I didn’t want to leave you hanging, so here’s three QUICK things for this week:
Thing 1: Managing Stress!
Something that I think I hadn’t really thought about before is the fact that stress isn’t always because of “bad” things. Right now we are on the path to some pretty awesomely good things, but getting there is still stressful!! There are a LOT of tasks, lots of moving parts, lots of coordinating with lots of people. It’s just LOTS, right? And it’s GOOD, but it also gets me totally amped up and I am finding that I’m having to work extra hard to make sure that I manage my stress levels.
My favorite ways are:
Do something physical – walking, weeding, cooking, cleaning
Do something escapist – absorbing read, engaging game, napping
Do something calming – meditating, nature walks, hot baths
Do something creative – drawing, painting, sewing, quilting

Thing 2: $5 Books!
One of the things we need to do in order to pave the way for the very cool stuff coming down the pike for our bookstore is to significantly reduce our inventory. Which means that we’re listing a BUNCH of books at $5 each. The discount that works out to ranges from 25% off all the way up to 80% off!!
I list a few new ones each day and they go fast so if you’re at all interested in children’s books, nature stories, organic gardening or Waldorf education you should really really go check it out. All the books that are on the sale at any given moment are here:
